Cinco de Mayo is here at last! Entice your senses with Lucha VaVoom’s Cinco de Mayo Spectacular. This Saturday, Lucha VaVoom puts on a comedy-burlesque-wrestling show at the Park West Theatre, 332 W. Armitage Avenue. The show is for adults over 18 only. It begins at 9:30pm. Tickets are $25 at the door. You can also order online.

Next, Worldview takes you to the Orient and back with Re-Spiced: A Silk Road Cabaret. The show is playful, provocative, occasionally subversive and always entertaining. A cast of eight perform a musical pastiche of Asian and Middle Eastern images in American and British song and prose. Songs range from The Bangles’ “Walk Like an Egyptian” to Toby Keith’s “Red, White and Blue.” Re-Spiced challenges you to think about how we consume pop culture about the “others,” and leaves you wondering who’s who? Re-Spiced is at Pierce Hall in the Chicago Temple Building, 77 W. Washington Street. Shows are Friday at 8:00pm, Saturday at 4pm and 8pm, Sunday at 4pm.

Lastly, sixteen kids from one of the largest slums in Gujarat, India’s northern region, perform a 90-minute dance-drama called Ekatva, or “Oneness.” It’s based on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Chosen from a group of 250, the kids have trained over the past year and will debut in Chicago this weekend, 7pm at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. Tickets range from $55 for premium seating to $25.
