West Side Residents To Vote On Property Tax Hike For Mental Health Services

West Side neighborhoods like North Lawndale and Garfield Park will vote on a binding ballot initiative to raise property taxes for mental health services in their area.

The ballot initiative would raise property taxes by about $4 for every $1,000 residents are already paying.

A similar initiative passed in a Northwest Side neighborhood in 2012.
