What Google Fiber Could Mean For Chicago

Google's super-fast internet service could be coming to Chicago.

The company announced in a blog post that it is working with city officials in Chicago and Los Angeles as it looks to bring the service to its first major cities.

For about $70 a month, Google Fiber provides internet speeds 100 times faster than typical internet service.

Google Fiber is currently available in three cities: Provo, Utah; Austin, Texas, and Kansas City, Mo.

Matthew Marcus is the president of the KC Startup Foundation, which works to strengthen Kansas City’s startup and entrepreneur community.

He tells host Melba Lara what the impact was when Google Fiber came to Kansas City.
