What's next for US-Pakistan relations?

On Wednesday, President Obama is scheduled to sit down with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan. The meeting comes after a period of contentious relations between the two countries. Some think the meeting signals a new cooperation. After all, the US has agreed to resume military aid to Pakistan. But Daniel Markey might suggest that we level our expectations when it comes to US-Pakistan relations. He's a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he specializes in security and governance issues in South Asia. He's also a former member of the US State Department and author of No Exit from Pakistan: America’s Tortured Relationship with Islamabad. Markey joins us to assess how effective our foreign policy with Pakistan has been and what the path forward might look like. (Photo: A.P./Pervez Masih)
