Why some Chicago kindergarteners only attend half-day of school

Updated at: 1:01 pm on 6/20/2011

Members of the Chicago Board of Education are considering a longer school day for the 2011-2012 school year. That would be a big move, especially for schools without full-day kindergarten programs. Catalyst Chicago’s Rebecca Harris examines the discrepancy and the effects in the latest edition of the magazine Catalyst In Depth.
