WordPlay Open Mic - Special Tribute

WordPlay, Young Chicago Authors' ten year old open mic and workshop series, finishes up the Spring season with Chicago poet and educator, Mike Haeflinger.  WordPlay is an open space for teen writers, rhymers, and performers to showcase their work to peers and the public.  Each session begins with an hour-long writing workshop, led by a working writer who specializes in topic, genre, or form.

In special tribute, this month's WordPlay open mic session was recorded for Chicago Amplified.  Featured poetry contemplates everything from Don Imus to being gay, from pop icons to spirituality to baseball to death... and of course, includes shout-outs to Mikey himself.  Concludes with a reading from the one and only.

Recorded Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Young Chicago Authors.
