Canada’s Conservative Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, won a majority vote in Monday’s elections that gave opposition Liberals their worst defeat in Canadian history. Lubomyr Luciuk, a professor at the Royal Military College of Canada, joins us to discuss Canada’s rightward political shift. Also, leaders of Fatah and Hamas signed an accord in Cairo today paving the way for a unity government in the West Bank and Gaza. Middle East historian Rashid Khalidi shares his thoughts on the agreement. And on Global Notes, Jerome McDonnell and Radio M host Tony Sarabia pay tribute to 'The Wild Hare', one of Chicago’s few reggae-only music clubs. Owner Zeleke Gessesse joins them to explain why he’s closing the club after 25 years to move back to his native Ethiopia.
