After the August recess ends next week, Congress plans to vote on new free trade agreements with South Korea, Panama and Colombia. We’ll sift through the facts and myths of free trade agreements with Laura Carlsen, director of the Americas Program at the Center for International Policy in Mexico City. Also, WBEZ’s South Side Bureau Reporter Natalie Moore reports on a South Side public school that wants to create an Arabic language and culture center. And on Global Activism, we speak with Jesuit priest Father Terry Charlton, founder of St. Aloysius Gonzaga High School in the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya. This massive squatter community is home to nearly one million people, including more than 30,000 children who are orphans of the AIDS epidemic.
