Monday is the first day for candidates to file nominating petitions for next year’s primary election. Candidates lined up early this morning — if not days beforehand — outside the the Board of Elections office located in a Springfield strip mall. Those who were in line by 8 a.m. got the chance to be listed first on the March ballot.
