A group of Chicago firefighters are in Puerto Rico working to bring relief to some of the millions of U.S. citizens still recovering from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
The group of about 20 firefighters, among them paramedics and EMTs, traveled to Puerto Rico last week.
Chicago Fire Department District Chief Juan Hernandez says today they’re performing medical assessments in a small town. He says the team performs about five “missions” a day, which keeps them busy from the early morning hours until nighttime.
