Chicago Public Schools is opening its first flight simulation lab at Air Force Academy High School, where students try their hand at flying and landing different aircraft and coordinating flights from a control tower.

Principal Yashika Tippett-Eggleston says the new simulation lab exposes students to a career in aviation and promotes skills for STEM fields. She says the flight simulator is a first for any high school in Illinois.
