Less than an hour after being sworn in as Chicago’s mayor on Monday, Lori Lightfoot picked a fight with the City Council. She signed an executive order aimed at limiting aldermen’s power and stressed the need to replace corruption with reform. But now, Lightfoot needs those same aldermen to get on board with her agenda. WBEZ’s Marc Garber spoke with former Ald. Dick Simpson, a Lightfoot advisor, about the mayor’s relationship with the Council moving forward.
