Chicago police officials say they’ve now put almost every officer in the department through a four-hour course on the use of force. The training aims to cut down on questionable shootings and other uses of force that have hamstrung efforts against crime. The department today (Thursday) also unveiled a plan to give all its members 40 hours a year of continuing education. Until now, there has been no inservice training for all Chicago cops.
