The Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac starts tomorrow, with more than 300 boats making the trip across Lake Michigan. It’s a 333-mile trip to the finish line, Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan. It will take most of the boats almost two days to get there. Rick Warner is the owner and skipper of the Arete. This weekend will be his 11th race to Mackinac. Warner and a crew of five will take turns steering, navigating, and sleeping during  the race. He says depending on the weather and other circumstances the Arete could reach Mackinac in just 20 hours.
