The Arete was the first vessel to cross the finish line at Mackinac Island — but it didn’t stop there. The crew kept sailing to complete the Super Mac, a course that starts in Chicago and ends in Port Huron, Michigan. Warner said they broke the Super Mac record by more than 12 hours and battled changing winds and bad weather to beat out more than 200 other boats.
