Young immigrants in the Chicago area who received temporary legal status in the U.S. under an Obama policy are anxiously awaiting news on the fate of that program. Conflicting reports from the White House indicate an announcement could be made this weekend or on Tuesday. President Trump could continue the program, let it lapse or end it. Paula, a sophomore at Loyola University, told WBEZ that she and her sister both applied for the program two years ago and should be applying now to renew the status. But they haven’t because they are fearful that it may not continue.
