Last year, 116 people were sentenced to prison for Chicago homicides, according to new data from the Cook County State’s Attorney. That’s a fraction of the number of homicide victims in the city. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx says the problem is that the Chicago Police Department solves so few murders. The homicide sentencing info is part of a major data release by Foxx’s office this week.
