Lake County Prosecutor Launches Second Chance Program For Non-Violent Offenders

Lake County State’s Attorney Michael Nerheim is giving a second chance to people with a first time non-violent misdemeanor convictions. Nerheim said he hopes this will prevent repeat offenses and make the community safer. The offender would have to apply to the program and if accepted, they’d need to complete a requirement that could include drug rehabilitation or community service.
