Local Officials React To Judge’s Order On Sanctuary Funding

Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle’s office says it’s “pleased” that a federal judge in California has halted President Trump’s effort to strip federal funding from so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions. The order, relating to a case filed in California, was issued yesterday. A statement from Preckwinkle’s spokesman said the county “will continue to work with our governmental partners throughout the U.S. to ensure that we are not illegally penalized due to our status as a sanctuary county.”]
