More Community Involvement Could Prevent Retaliatory Violence
After a weekend shooting at a prayer vigil, one community leader says more community involvement could prevent retaliatory violence. Eddie Bocanegra is executive director for the YMCA’s Youth Safety and Violence Prevention initiative. He says violence at vigils or funerals doesn’t happen very often, but when it does happen, it isn’t random. He thinks one major way to prevent retaliatory shootings is more community involvement.
