New DCFS Head Answers Questions About Joliet Toddler’s Death
Officials at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are making changes as an investigation continues into the death of a Joliet toddler. A DCFS worker had visited toddler Semaj Crosby’s house days before she was found dead under a couch. Agency reports didn’t raise red flags, but state lawmakers at a joint house-senate hearing today noted there were several problems. Interim Director BJ Walker said an outside organization is assessing the agency, but some changes will immediately go into effect.
