New DuSable Museum Architectural Exhibit Displays South Side Beauty
Chicago is an architecture destination. And a new exhibit reveals the beauty beyond a bus or a boat tour through downtown. Southern Exposure opens today at the DuSable Museum of African American History. It features photos of architecture on the city’s South Side. Photographer Lee Bey, who works at the museum, says the show’s vision is to upend the prevalent images about neighborhoods south of Roosevelt and argues the homes, churches, buildings on the South Side feature the finest architecture outside downtown.
