A professor at Northwestern University and an employee of England’s Oxford University are wanted for first-degree murder in Chicago. Arrest warrants were issued Monday for Northwestern Medical School Professor Wyndham Lathem and Oxford’s Andy Warren.

The two are charged with stabbing a 26-year-old man to death on the 10th floor of a luxury apartment building on State Street, just a few blocks north of the river.

The 42-year-old Lathem has been a faculty member in Northwestern’s microbiology-immunology department for 10 years.

In a statement, a school spokesman says he has been placed on administrative leave and banned from entering the Northwestern University campuses
