CHICAGO, Ill. (AP) — SEIU President Mary Kay Henry, SEIU Healthcare Illinois Indiana Missouri Kansas President Greg Kelley, Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis, and Cook County Board President President Toni Preckwinkle are set to speak at news conference where representatives of “more than 5,000” nursing home workers from across 57 nursing homes in Chicagoland and beyond announce their plans to strike next week over “fair wages, staffing levels that ensure quality care for residents, and dignity on the job regardless of immigration status.”

The last scheduled negotiations with nursing home owners are scheduled to take place Thursday.
