Nursing Home Workers Avoid Strike

Nursing home workers avoided a strike today after coming to a tentative bargaining agreement. Workers represented by SEIU say wages and benefits were major sticking points. Under the new contract, workers could get pay increases as high as 40 percent, depending on their location and years of employment. The union will vote to ratify the contract in the coming days.
