Part-time faculty at Columbia College in Chicago went on strike today after bargaining for a new contact stalled. Striking part-time faculty, supportive students, and others participated in a rally outside Columbia College’s Michigan Avenue campus Wednesday morning. It’s the first day of a two-day job action against the school over wages, class size, and other issues. A spokesperson for the college says only a few classes were affected by Wednesday’s job action. Contract talks are expected to resume Friday.
