Possible Bidders For The Sun-Times Get Extra Time To Make Offers
The U.S. Department of Justice is giving extra time to some potential buyers for the Chicago Sun-Times. The department’s anti-trust division asked the Sun-Times to pause acquisition talks with Tronc, the company that owns the Tribune. Initially, the department asked for a 15-day window for other potential buyers to make initial offers. Now, it is extending that period by five days for at least two possible buyers that have expressed interest.
