Report: Higher Tuition, Limited Grants Preventing Low-Income Illinois Students From Getting College Degree

A new report shows low income students in Illinois have a harder time reaching college. The Partnership for College Completion finds rising tuition costs and state budget cuts have made college unaffordable for many low-income students. At the same time, graduation rates for those students and students of color continue to lag. The report calls for greater investment in Illinois and points to strategies in other states that are producing better results.
