Report: Youth Confinement Dropped 60 Percent Over The Last Decade

Illinois is part of a national trend — fewer young people are being locked up. According to a new report from Pew Charitable Trust, youth confinement has dropped by 60 percent in the last decade. According to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, the number of days a young person spends in detention has also dropped.
