Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is urging Congress to pass the DREAM Act immigration bill before Christmas. The Trump Administration announced in September that it was ending the DACA immigration program, and called on Congress to find a permanent replacement. One replacement option is the DREAM Act, which would grant permanent legal residency for people who came to the U.S. illegally as children. Senator Dick Durbin is one of the bill’s sponsors. He says the end of DACA should compel Congress to pass the DREAM Act immediately.
