Study: Domestic Violence Resources Lacking On South, West Sides

Services to help survivors of domestic violence in Chicago are least present in neighborhoods that most need them. That’s according to a new study by Heartland Alliance. It finds that counseling and shelter services are disproportionately in wealthy, white North Side neighborhoods, while survivors in South and West Side areas with higher rates of domestic violence often must travel many miles to access help.
