The University of Chicago Hospital unveiled its new emergency room today. The $39 million investment includes getting patients to see doctors faster, 24-hour radiology services,and rooms to help victims of sexual assault. The new ER puts the medical center one step closer to becoming a Level 1 adult trauma center. Final state approval is needed and the center is expected to be ready by May of next year.
