A new U-S Forest Service report concludes that about 15 percent of the trees in the The Chicago Wilderness region are at high risk due to the effects of climate change.The report offers steps to keeping the forest healthy in the face of warmer temperatures, more severe storms, and drought expected in the next 50 years. The study is being shared with communities so they might plant new and diverse species that can thrive in extreme conditions.
