Prashant Bhushan has spent more than 25 years fighting corrupt politicians and companies in his home country of India. Five years ago, the public interest lawyer and activist helped lead thousands in massive protests to support a hunger striker who demanded anti-corruption legislation.

Last time we talked with him, Bhushan was demanding the government do more to protect anti-corruption whistleblowers. Many whistleblowers have been murdered since 2002 and thousands more have been kidnapped, attacked and harassed.

We catch up with Bhushan to talk about his latest crusade. He’s taking on Raman Singh, chief minister of India’s Chhattisgarh state over graft, corruption and his failure to adequately warn citizens and move resources to combat extreme drought conditions.
