An update on the humanitarian situation in Syria

Kurdish fighters in northern Syria say they have captured a key town from Islamic State, an area that is just 30 miles from their headquarters in Raqqa. At the same time, UN investigators says that Syrian government forces have dropped barrel bombs on Aleppo nearly daily this year, amounting to the war crime of targeting civilians. Hospitals and ambulances are often among those targets. Dr. Zaher Sahloul, president of the Syrian American Medical Society gives us an update on the humanitarian situation in Syria and we’ll hear how Syrian families resettled in the Chicago area are adapting to their new life.
