Artist captures "Ukrainian Soul"

Artist Nataliya Tyaglo was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She eventually came to live in the U.S. In time, Tyaglo began to feel disconnected from her Ukrainian roots, especially as the political situation in Ukraine changed and worsened. She went back to Ukraine in 2011 and was inspired during and after the visit to create works of art. We’ll talk with Tyaglo about these works that make up an exhibit called “Ukrainian Soul,” “a collection of artwork inspired by Ukrainian traditions, rituals, and the energy of Ukrainian people.” The collection will show at Chicago’s Ukrainian National Museum through September 27th, 2015.
