Chicago-based group Funkadesi fuses Bollywood, reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean music, and will celebrate its 21st anniversary this weekend. The band collaborates with varied groups to use music as a vehicle for community healing and building.

“Some of the things that we learn as musical lessons are also life lessons,” Funkadesi founder Rahul Sharma says.
