The film Blue Is the Warmest Color by Tunisian-French director Abdellatif Kechiche has received a great deal of attention for its portrayal of lesbian sex. It includes one sex scene which runs a full seven minutes. Some critics have hailed the way women are portrayed in the film, others have suggested the film is really mostly about fulfilling the director’s own desires. Milos Stehlik, director of Facets Multimedia and Andrea Weiss, a documentary filmmaker and author of Paris Was A Woman, offer up their take on the film.
