Boko Haram’s alleged slaughter of thousands in Baga, Nigeria

Human rights groups, like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have released satellite images which it claims shows wide-scale destruction from the most recent attack by Boko Haram in Nigeria. It is difficult to get accurate reports from this remote region. Death estimates range from 150 people to thousands. We’ll get an update on the situation from Rona Peligal, deputy director in the Africa Division of Human Rights Watch. In this Sunday April. 21, 2013 file photo taken with a mobile phone, the ruins of burnt out houses stand in Baga village in Nigeria. Hundreds of bodies — too many to count — remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International suggested Friday is the "deadliest massacre" in the history of Boko Haram.
