Brazil Will Proceed With Impeachment Trial Against President Rousseff

After a debate which lasted all night, Brazil’s Senate voted to proceed with an impeachment trial against the country’s president, Dilma Rousseff. While the trial takes place, Rousseff will be suspended, although she’ll retain her title as president. 

Marcelo Jarmendia, founder and director of Brazil in Chicago, joins us from Sao Paolo to talk about why what this vote really shows is that Brazil’s “ institutions are severely damaged.”
