This year, the U.K. has been caught in a flurry of diplomatic rows with several countries. In May, the U.K. issued sanctions against Russia for poisoning two of its citizens. Also, the U.K. and E.U. issued a joint “blocking statute.” It essentially blunts the impact of President Trump’s sanctions against Iran. Great Britain struggles with domestic affairs as Prime Minister Theresa May deals with potential fallout from a “no-deal” on Brexit negotiations with the EU.
