European and Chinese companies have increasingly turned to Africa to do business. They’ve recognized the potential in the continent’s growing middle class. Of the top ten fastest growing economies in the world, seven are in Africa. But American companies haven’t been as quick to do business there. A new report by the Emerging Leaders program at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Africa is Now: The Opportunity for Mid-Sized US Companies, aims to dispel the myth that Africa is a bad place to do business and encourage more American companies to invest there.
