Can American Capitalism Survive?

According to one survey, only 42 percent of millennials support capitalism. In recent years, conversations about reforming financial institutions have polarized political parties. Some economists argue that capitalism and competition sustains the economy, while others point out that the system only succeeds in furthering the wealth gap.  Steven Pearlstein, professor of Political and International Affairs at George Mason University, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Washington Post. He joins us to discuss why capitalism has failed us.  He is the author of Can American Capitalism Survive?: Why Greed Is Not Good, Opportunity Is Not Equal, and Fairness Won't Make Us Poor.
