Chicago becomes a "sweatfree city", the Chop-Suey Circuit, and 'The World Before Her documentary
A Chicago campaign to encourage the city administration and lawmakers to not purchase materials made from sweatshop labor began in response to tragic incidents in the apparel industry. We'll find out the impact of Chicago's anti-sweatshop ordinance with Katherine Bissell Cordova, and Alderman Ameya Pawar. Then, WBEZ’s Monica Eng speaks with author Lisa See sat down and explored a little known part of American history. And filmmaker Nisha Pahuja joins us to talk about her new documentary, "The World Before Her," about issues in Indian culture like patriarchy, chauvinism and misogyny.
