Chicago's Funkadesi Bridges Cultural Divides With Multicultural Sounds

The Chicago-based group Funkadesi combines East Indian music with reggae, funk, and Afro-Caribbean sounds. The group started 20 years ago and its members are as diverse as the music they play.

This weekend they’ll celebrate their multicultural roots in a concert at Old Town School of Folk Music.

Funkadesi's Rahul Sharma and Carlos Antonio Cornier join us to talk about how it all began and the role that music can play in bridging cultural divides.
