Chocolate prices are on the rise, due to demand and disease lying waste to South American production of cocoa beans. This at a time when chocolate producers are starting to pay attention to activists about the plight of child workers in the industry. Will the economics of this situation help or hurt the effort to eradicate child slavery in chocolate production? We’ll talk with Antonie Fountain, he’s coordinator of the VOICE network of NGO’s and trade unions throughout Europe, working on sustainable cocoa value chains.
