The President of Colombia was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10th for forging the peace deal between the Colombian government and the FARC rebel group. The deal ended 52 years of war and took four years to negotiate.
The result was an accord that addresses the social and economic causes of Colombia’s conflict in a more comprehensive way.
