As a Saudi Arabia-led coalition launched military strikes on Yemen’s capital of Sanaa, tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in support of Houthi rebels in control of the city. The Saudis support deposed President, Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The strikes come after a fragile ceasefire fell apart earlier this month.

Last week, a missile from inside Yemen killed seven people in Najran, Saudi Arabia, according to Saudi media sources. The 17-month conflict has caused the deaths of over 6,500 people – many were civilians.

Human rights observers have condemned both sides for indiscriminate civilian targeting. We’ll get the latest from Kristine Beckerle, a fellow at Human Rights Watch. She works in its Middle East and North Africa Division.
