Taking Israel tells the story of a program that brought students from Wilberforce University, the nation’s oldest private, historically black university, to Israel. For many, it was the first time they’d spent any significant time outside the country.

The documentary follows several of the students as they return to Israel 20 years later. For this week’s Weekend Passport, global citizen Nari Safavi is joined by Dr. Eric Winston, the founder of the program at Wilberforce University and Vincent Singleton, the film’s director.
