The documentary ‘The Act of Killing’ by filmmaker Joshua Oppenheimer tells the story of the Indonesian death squad leaders who presided over the executions of more than a million people in 1965. These death squad leaders helped the Indonesian military kill alleged communists, ethnic Chinese and intellectuals. In September the film became available, for download, for free, inside Indonesia. Director Joshua Oppenheimer and Jeffrey Winters, founder and director of the Equality Development and Globalization Studies (EDGS) program at Northwestern University join us to discuss the film.
